John Veech, Chief Investment Officer – Marathon Capital Partners

John Veech is the Chief Investment Officer of Marathon Capital Partners, a sustainability-driven infrastructure investment platform sponsored by Marathon Capital. Mr. Veech recently concluded a 14-year career at Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners (MSIP), where he was a Managing Director and the Head of the Americas Region.

Mr. Veech is an infrastructure investment professional with extensive experience in investing, managing and financing infrastructure assets and businesses, including in the renewable energy, power, midstream, transportation, digital, communications and utility industry verticals. At MSIP, a $16 billion global infrastructure investing platform, he was the head of the Americas region for over 12 years. The Americas regional team invested over $7 billion of private equity capital during his tenure as regional head.

Prior to MSIP, Mr. Veech was a Managing Director in Lehman Brothers’ Private Equity Division and, previously, was Global Head of Project Finance, where he oversaw the underwriting or placement of $35 billion of infrastructure and project finance debt. He has previously worked for Salomon Brothers and was an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.

Mr. Veech has served on numerous private and public company boards of directors, and maintains relationships with a broad base of institutional investors. He holds Series 7, 63 and 79 licenses and is a member of the New York Bar.
