Denise Gonzalez brings a deep commitment to environmental resilience and public service in her role as Infrastructure Specialist at Sustainability Partners. With a career rooted in sustainability and government leadership, she offers a unique blend of technical insight and policy experience.
As the primary point of contact for SP’s customers in New Mexico, Denise guides clients from project installation through long-term maintenance and warranty support, ensuring they always have a knowledgeable advocate in their corner. She serves as the central liaison between SP, vendors, and customers, facilitating clear communication, managing project milestones, and resolving issues efficiently so customers can focus on the outcomes that matter to them.
Before joining SP, Denise built a distinguished career at the intersection of sustainability and infrastructure policy. As Sustainability Specialist and Acting Sustainability Officer for the City of Albuquerque, she developed the city’s first Sustainability Ordinance, founded the New Mexico Urban Heat Cohort, and secured $2 million in federal funding for energy efficiency retrofits in low-income communities. She later served as Infrastructure Program Coordinator in the Office of the Governor of New Mexico, managing contract compliance for state electrification initiatives and co-chairing the 2025 Infrastructure Finance Conference. Earlier in her career, she served as Global Sustainability and Compliance Project Coordinator at Costco Wholesale, managing sustainability programs across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.
Originally from San Diego, Denise is bilingual and passionate about advancing sustainable communities. She holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Sustainability and a Graduate Certificate in Green Buildings and Materials, both from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico.
