Michael Du Pont

Michael Du Pont serves as Lead Infrastructure Specialist at Sustainability Partners in Hawaiʻi, where he is the primary point of contact for customers and vendors throughout the full lifecycle of each project. Born and raised on Maui, Michael brings deep expertise and a firsthand understanding of how to successfully deliver meaningful infrastructure initiatives across the islands.

In this role, Michael coordinates all aspects of project delivery from kickoff through completion, managing vendor relationships, conducting site visits, and providing customers with regular updates and ongoing support to ensure each project succeeds.

Prior to joining SP, Michael served as Deputy Director of the County of Maui’s Department of Transportation, where he managed the Maui Bus program across fixed route, commuter, and paratransit services. His team launched the county’s first hybrid transit buses and in 2019 he worked with BYD to pilot the first electric transit bus in Maui’s fleet, helping position the county for full electrification.

Michael also collaborated with the Maui Police Department to establish the Mobile Medical Educational Unit, connecting houseless community members with healthcare, housing resources, and Drug Court support, reflecting his deep commitment to the people and communities he serves.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix, where he earned a 4.0 GPA and was invited to the National Honor Society. He is Crisis Intervention Team certified and holds a Commercial Driver’s License. A dedicated husband and father to three children, Michael is Chair of the Makawao Town Association, volunteers at local schools, and is deeply committed to serving his community.
